Make a Shape "Pop Out" of Your Cake

Press the Shape-A-Cake clay into the bottom of a pan.  Free-form a shape into the Shape-A-Cake clay.  Alternatively, cover the Shape-A-Cake clay with plastic wrap and press your favorite objects into Shape-A-Cake clay, thereby forming impressions in the clay.

Pour prepared cake batter over the Shape-A-Cake clay and bake until the cake is done.  Loosen the cake from the edges of the pan and invert the pan.  The baked clay will stay in the pan.  Using a spatula or a spoon, the baked clay can then be easily removed from the pan.

Control the Outline of Your Cake

Build 1/2-inch thick walls using the Shape-A-Cake clay on a cookie sheet or in a baking pan.  Bake for about 10 minutes.  Pour prepared cake batter inside the walls and bake until the cake is done.  Cut the baked clay into segments and carefully separate from the cake.  Frost the cake, and enjoy!
